TV Madness: ‘Outlander,’ ‘Once Upon a Time’ square off in final showdown

Round 4 -This TV Madness article series at CarterMatt has been a ton of fun throughout the month so far, but as you’re starting to get further and further into the real tournament in which this is based, all things must come to an end.

Today, we’re kicking off the final round of the tournament with two shows who have certainly toppled many formidable foes to get to this point, but there can only be one champion for 2016! Since this is the weekend, we want to offer up plenty of time for people to vote before the winner is announced on Monday, March 21. Therefore, we’re going to leave voting open until 9:00 a.m. PST on that morning, and the winner will be officially announced at around noon on that day. Vote at your leisure!

Now that we’ve said all of that, let’s get to spotlighting our two main contenders and the road that they’ve went down to get here.

Outlander” (2) – Sometimes, the unexpected road is the most interesting road for a finalist in any tournament, and that is certainly the case here with the Starz drama. It actually had its toughest competition all the way back in the first round against “Longmire,” but it found a way to stay alive there and has since blown through all of its other competitors to make it to this spot. Can it score one more victory now?

Once Upon a Time” (2) – While it had a pretty easy victory against “Empire,” the ABC fairy-tale drama actually had come-from victories against underdogs “Poldark” in the first round and “Halt and Catch Fire,” which almost entered the final showdown as a #8 seed, in the final four. It’s now made it here, and it has one more hurdle to jump over to be the #1 show this year. Can this passionate fan base defeat another one?
