‘Supergirl’ season 17 spoilers: What are the ramifications of Hank Henshaw reveal?

Manhunter -

There were a few huge moments that took place on Monday night’s new episode of “Supergirl,” but from our vantage point one of the largest ones undoubtedly came courtesy of the Hank Henshaw character. After all, by the end of the episode he had revealed himself to most of the DEO as J’onn J’onzz as he was needed in order to stop Kara in her tracks following the Red Kryptonite incident. Effectively, he took one for the team and placed himself in a position where he knew he was going to potentially not have the ability to lead the group anymore.

In speaking to Entertainment Weekly about this story, executive producer Greg Berlanti chimed in with the following message:

“It will jeopardize his relationship with the DEO … Even though so much of this show is also about coming out and coming into your own, that’s obviously something that’s been weighing heavily on him. The interesting question is: Will he be a better hero after this?”

It feels to us like the answer to this said question is a definite “yes,” but he also is going to have to face more obstacles at the same time. For starters, he is going to have to convince some at the DEO that he is more than capable of still leading the team, and he isn’t thought of as a potential traitor / someone who cannot be trusted just because he was not telling the complete truth about who he was underneath his mask.
