‘NCIS’ alum Cote de Pablo may return to series TV with Syfy pilot

The latest -

More than two years following her exit on “NCIS,” it is looking more and more like Cote de Pablo may have her TV future lined up courtesy of another series — and this time around, she could be heading over to Syfy.

According to a new report from Deadline, Cote is set to star alongside “Smash” alum Jack Davenport in “Prototype,” an upcoming series at Syfy from Tony Basgallop (“24: Live Another Day”) that is going to focus on a revelation in the world of quantum physics. Three people are going to come across this discovery, and it will be a jumping-off point for almost everything that unfolds from there.

In terms of Cote’s role, she will be playing the part of Laura Kale, one of the three people who comes across the discovery. She is a mother of two, but unfortunately, there’s not a whole lot else that is known about her at the moment.

Would this appearance potentially impact her ability to make an appearance on “NCIS” this season? Provided that the writers wanted her back and she was interested, we don’t think so. There is plenty of time to do both given that a pilot is only one episode, and we don’t even know when it is filming just yet. All we know is that Michael Weatherly is departing the long-running CBS series at the end of the season, and it would certainly be nice to get at least one more appearance from Ziva before that time. Ultimately, it’d just be a nice way to send off the character, who we have come to very much love over the years.

We’re excited for Cote, but let us know what you think in the comments! Also, sign up over here to get some more TV news on everything we cover, sent right over to you via our official CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: CBS.)
