‘The Bachelorette’ poll: Should Caila Quinn, JoJo Fletcher, Becca Tilley, or someone else be lead?

Caila -There’s one thing that we can say about Monday night’s “The Bachelor: The Women Tell All” more so than anything else: Year in and year out, it is a pretty tremendous showcase of who ABC and the show producers want as the next star of the show. If a contestant doesn’t get any time in the hot seat and they were not already eliminated, then you can almost guarantee that they are going to be ruled out of contention.

At the moment, here are the women ABC has hyped up for getting individual interviews with Chris Harrison: Jubilee Sharpe, Caila Quinn, and Olivia Caridi. Go ahead and write off Olivia right now, since there’s a better chance that we never have “The Bachlorette” again than we have a season featuring her. That’s just not going to happen.

But what about Becca Tilley? She’s someone we’ve seen a ton of fan support online for over time, and she’s also someone who seems to be a genuinely nice, real person. We figure that is part of the appeal there; viewers want to see someone they can relate to on some level, and she’s a little quieter and not really there to make great TV. Unfortunately, that’s probably one of the reasons why the show won’t pick her, and why we don’t even know if she gets a sit-down at Monday’s special. She never really had a huge role in Ben Higgins’ season.

Now, let’s touch on the problems with two other contenders. Jubilee was eliminated several episodes ago, and while she’s probably our personal Bachelorette pick, the show has never picked a Bachelorette from a prior season who finished before hometown dates. They’ve done it with “The Bachelor,” but with this show being a little less of a ratings monster, perhaps ABC is not as willing to gamble with a woman sent home earlier.

Meanwhile, JoJo is in an interesting place on the show. You have to go all the way back to DeAnna Pappas to find a Bachelorette who was in the final two of a prior season of “The Bachelor.” In her case, she was rejected by Brad Womack and then went on to get briefly engaged on her season. (Emily Maynard was the “Bachelorette” after accepting a proposal from Brad on his second season, but there was more than a year layoff between the two.) We think JoJo would also be very good, but they cannot really promote her on “The Women Tell All.”

Just through this breakdown below, all signs do point to Caila getting the gig, even if it seems like she’d be somewhat polarizing based on internet reaction.
