‘Call the Midwife’ season 5, episode 8 (finale) preview: Is someone set to die?

Call the Midwife -

Just in case you were not anxious enough in seeing the “Call the Midwife” season finale on Sunday night, be aware of this: There will be a character who passes away at some point during the episode, and they could even be of great significance. This is not a show that has shied away from making big moves in the past, so why in the world would they be shy here? The simple answer here is that they wouldn’t.

Speaking per the Mirror, here is what one source in particular had to say about some of what is coming up:

“The audience will no doubt feel shocked and saddened by the loss of one of the Nonnatus favourites … As regular fans know, many of the Call the Midwife episodes have very emotional themes but it would be wise to keep the tissues close for this one.”

Is it fair to speculate too much on who will go? We’re afraid to, mostly because the last thing that we want to do is send anyone down the wrong path thinking that someone is going to go, only to realize later that it is someone else who ends up losing their lives. We imagine more than anything else that there will be tears, and we hope that this death somehow figures out a way to push the story forward in some sort of enormous way. The show has been renewed already for a sixth season, so there is at least no reason to worry about the show’s long-term future.
