‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: More on Cupid’s big return

Arrow -Who is one of the most entertaining and psychotic “Arrow” villains out there? It’s Cupid, stupid. (No, we’re not actually calling you stupid — we’re just quoting the show! Don’t hit the comments already!)

Anyhow, Amy Gumenick is going to be back as the signature character (posted above with Deadshot, RIP) for the upcoming March 23 episode entitled “Broken Hearts,” which may be an appropriate use of the term given how a certain Oliver / Felicity scene may make fans out there feel. Remember that photo of a wedding ceremony that executive producer Marc Guggenheim posted on Twitter? Based on the synopsis below, that may have just been a ploy to flush out Cupid rather than a hint that the real thing is coming:

“A heartbroken Cupid (guest star Amy Gumenick) returns to Star City with one goal – to destroy anyone in love. The team learns she’s killing couples on their wedding day so Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) decide to pose as bait.”

Given that Oliver and Felicity are not together at the moment, it’s probably going to be some time before they have a real ceremony; also, we know that they won’t be together until at least after the big funeral that takes place later this season.

While we do think that the Cupid appearance is probably filler given that Damien Darhk is currently in prison, we do think that she is the most entertaining sort of filler that you can have. She’s off-the-wall and zany, and that is precisely part of the fun with her. You never know entirely just what it is that she is going to do next, and we can never have too many female villains, given that they’re still a rarity in this world.
