‘Big Brother Canada 4’ pre-game exclusive: Will Philippe Paquette make some noise in the house?

Philippe -Ready for some more “Big Brother Canada” interviews? Now that the international twist has been revealed, we’re back to focusing in on some of the Canadians who will be taking part this season … including here a DJ in Philippe Paquette ready to make a little bit of noise in the house (at least in his head).

Yes, this guy definitely has an ego, but who knows? Maybe he’ll be able to back it up and be one of the few alpha-male personalities who has a shot at winning this game. Check out our chat with him before the game below.

Tell us about yourself: Your name, where you’re from, your age, and what you do for a living.

I’m Philippe Paquette, I’m 21 years old from Ottawa, I’m a producer / DJ, and I go to school at RU for criminology, that’s my major. Other than that, I think I’m a pretty normal guy. I’m still at home, saving the money. I’m pretty successful with the women.

What made you want to try out for Big Brother Canada this year?

I think the game and the concept are just brilliant. 13-16 people in a house, competing for the money. I love the fact that it is so social and difficult. I think that it’s a brilliant game, and I can’t wait to be thrown into the mix and see if I can work my magic.

So what’s your knowledge base? Are you a big fan of the show?

I’ve watched for a while, but I really started to get involved this past year. I got involved with the season, I really didn’t watch live feeds or anything, but I have watched a number of the seasons, and I love it.

If you could compare yourself to someone from ‘Big Brother Canada’ or ‘Big Brother US,’ who would it be?

I can’t really say one single person, but I was a big fan of Hayden [Moss] from ’12,’ but mixed in with like a Boogie or that sort of arrogant, sly sort of game-player. Definitely the majority [of me] is Hayden, I want to get an alliance of the bros going. Definitely with more of an edge.

What’s something about you that would surprise people?

I think I’m gonna surprise people by how much involvement I have in pretty much every eviction … or [maybe] I’ll just be loud about it. It’s going to be one or the other, I can’t tell you right now. It’s going to depend on the cast, since I can think on my feet.

Do you have a specific strategy entering the house?

Right now I’d say the strategy for me is to see the cards I’m dealt and play accordingly. I’m pretty dynamic and call pull out a win in any comp. I’m pretty physical. I’ll probably be seen as a threat, so I’ll try to have a few good chats with people and stay under the radar.

What makes you think that you’ll be able to make it all the way to the end and win?

Just that — staying under the radar at the beginning. I probably will get in with some of the boys in the house, and if I have to showmance it up, I’d be willing to do that, for sure. It’s all to be seen. I think just getting along with people and having good conversations, because in that game you have nothing but your word. You have to prove to people that you’re going to be loyal to them and you hope they’ll return the favor.

What do you think your biggest weakness could be?

Definitely my impulsive behavior and words. That could come back to bite me. I’m pretty good at covering things up, but sometimes you just [can’t control it], you know?

Or, a girl. I could start crushing a little bit, and then people just send me out of the house. ‘He’s got a girl. Get rid of him.’

Other than winning the money, what’s the one thing you’re hoping to get out of this experience?

Just the experience. It’s the amazing experience to get to do this; I’m looking forward to doing it. It’s pretty awesome.

In closing, what do you want to say to Canada? Why should they be excited to see you this season?

I’m a wild card! I’m charming, I’m sort of a villain. I’ve got these nice eyes that people want to look into. I can do anything, and it’s going to be exciting.

Overall impression – He acts a little bit like Zach and Kevin from last season, but with a much higher opinion of himself. Maybe he’s also got some season 1 Tom vibes going on in here, as well. He’ll make crazy television, but our initial read is that he won’t be able to contain his competitive edge and be booted several weeks in.
