When “Scorpion” lost Megan as a character earlier this season, it lost in turn someone who was the light of Sylvester’s life. That saddens us greatly, but we are glad to see that the show is in one way still honoring the character’s memory. We cannot even begin to tell you how many scripted shows there are out there who would not even bother to bring up a character on their show after they are gone; it’s depressing, but that is the trend since they figure that new viewers are joining all the time and not everyone may remember.
This new sneak peek from Monday night’s “Da Bomb” is all about Sylvester first and foremost, as he makes it clear to Toby and Happy as to why he is entering the “Jeopardy!” arena: If he makes enough money, he wants to help to dedicate a wing of the hospital to her. However, at the same time he is facing quite a few obstacles that could keep this from happening, beginning with the fact that he does not know pop-culture in the slightest.
What we also learn in here (with a nod to corporate synergy) is that the show that Sylvester would most like to appear on in the future is “The Price is Right,” and we assume that the reason why is because he would love the opportunity to use his head and his knowledge of numbers. We certainly do not doubt that the skill set would work better there … but that is also not a show he can make as much money on.
