‘UnREAL’ season 2 will be accompanied by webseries spin-off; Breeda Wool to star

Clearly, Lifetime has realized the awesomeness of “UnREAL” and then some, and they have gone ahead and figured out a way to give us even more of a beloved season 1 character.

As first reported by USA Today, the network has ordered a ten-episode spin-off webseries starring Breeda Wool’s character of Faith, who was one of Adam Cromwell’s suitors and struggled with her sexuality while on the show. She was afraid in particular of coming out in her tiny town in Mississippi, where she could be ostracized and quickly thought of in a different and undeserving way.

In a statement to the site, show co-creator Sarah Gertrude Shapiro had the following to say:

“Faith is a character we all fell in love with. She was a closeted Christian lesbian from Mississippi, who’s someone I’m very passionate about … We pick up with her, and she has a Wrangler-type denim endorsement deal. She and her longtime love, Amy, move to L.A., which is very accepting of their lifestyle.”

We’re all for this idea, mostly because one of our largest concerns going into season 2 was how we were going to be forced to say goodbye to so many characters we loved just because of the ever-changing concept of the show. Unless you bring back the same women every season to be contestants, it’s hard to get the same cast members around time and time again. That’s also been the dilemma when it comes to Freddie Stroma (who plays Adam), though there are some hints out there that he may have at least some sort of role to play following what we would say was a really epic season 1 arc.

Both “UnREAL” and this web series will premiere a little later this year; for now, head over here to get some more TV news on everything we cover via our official CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: Lifetime.)
