‘Better Call Saul’ season 2 video: Jimmy McGill finds a new scene

Better Call Saul season 2In one way or another, the “Breaking Bad” universe has made good use of the Mexican restaurant as a scene for important events to take place. They’re all over New Mexico, so we assume that this does some sense in one way or another. Remember the season 5 scene where Walt has a not-so-friendly conversation with Hank and Marie? The guacamole guy just wouldn’t go away!

The latest promo for “Better Call Saul” season 2 (premiering on AMC come February 15) also features a Mexican restaurant, but this one is a little lonelier for Jimmy McGill. (Then again, this may be preferable than what Hank and Marie went through.) After surveying the scene, the camera ultimately focuses on Jimmy drinking at the bar with his old-school phone next to him. Granted, this phone could’ve been top of the line at the time in which this show is set.

We’re a little confused as to why the show chose something like a restaurant, complete with mariachi band, to showcase Jimmy in this preview. Maybe they wanted to just create the over-the-top vibe of the show in thirty seconds, or maybe he is going to be doing something in a Mexican restaurant for a part of the season. We do like to often imagine that very little within the world of this show is done by accident, so that’s why we are speculating as to possibilities.

We’ll have some more news in regards to the second season, including more sneak peeks, as we get closer to it airing.
