‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: Ben Higgins says no to a ‘better first kiss’

The first night of “The Bachelor” is typically jam-packed with awkward situations, and we’re getting the chance to see one of them play out a little early!

The sneak peek below comes to us via Entertainment Weekly from the upcoming January 4 premiere, and it features Lace (read more about her here), who apparently got a first kiss from Ben Higgins right before entering the house, trying to get a “better” one from him. Clearly she is trying to get some sort of ownership of him almost right away, and do something that helps her to stand out from the rest of the women.

Well … it doesn’t quite work out as she would hope. We do think that Ben does let her off in about the nicest way someone can do so in this situation, but it doesn’t make the situation any less uncomfortable. If we were her after this encounter, we would probably start to think that we were not going to be getting a rose at the end of the night. Then again, we have seen people go through just as much before and manage to get another chance the following week. Lindsay didn’t have the best first night years ago with the whole wedding dress disaster, but she actually did manage to make it all the way to the end of the season.
