‘The 100’ season 3 teaser features Clarke on the run

The good news for fans of “The 100” is that there could end up being a longer trailer coming for the third season at some point before the January 21 premiere. The bad news? It’s not here as of this writing.

Still, the video below is one of the first teasers that we’ve got for the upcoming third season of the show, and it focuses on one thing more than anything else: Clarke on the run. Sure, there are some epic sequences featured in here, but there’s only so much time that this promo allows for scenes to be featured.

Will this be the season that finally gets the show a little bit more in the way of mainstream attention? There is one thing that the show does seem to have going for it at the moment, and that is providing a better opportunity for it to be found on the schedule. It is premiering right after the much-hyped “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” and while starting after “Arrow” (which it has done in the past) is certainly not bad, this may be a little more high-profile given that it is one premiere right after the other.

Also, this is a show that has built over time a devoted fan following, and it is one of the best examples out there of great network TV science fiction that is not just trying to replicate a superhero property. It’s going to be a battle this season to see which shows on The CW get renewed, since some that are lower-rated like “Jane the Virgin” and “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” do have critical acclaim and awards-show nominations going for them.
