‘The X Factor’ UK final performances: One Direction, Coldplay, Adele hit the stage

The news has been out there for some time that One Direction are planning a little bit of a hiatus after this year to recover from an extremely busy schedule, and after their performance of “Infinity” on “The X Factor” this weekend, it felt as though these guys don’t have any intention of reuniting in the near future.

This was an emotional tribute tonight to the most successful act in the history of this show, and one of the most famous ones to ever appear on any talent show. We do think that Liam, Harry, Niall, and Louis will get back together at some point, but it may not be for a year or two when they can live a little like normal humans. They’re set for life financially, so there is no longer a need for them to do any work. They just have to figure out whether or not they actually want to.

As for some of the other performances from the finale…

Coldplay, “Adventure of a Lifetime” – We’ve always enjoyed the band’s work, though we admittedly probably don’t love this particular track as much as some others that they have done over the years.

Adele, “Hello” – Was there really any doubt that this would be extraordinary? Hitting performances out of the park is really just a thing that Adele does time and time again. She’s one of the best singers in the entire world, and this is the sort of performance that could put the song once again near the top of the charts.
