‘Supergirl’ spoilers: Could J’onn J’onzz actually become Kara?

At the moment on “Supergirl” season 1, there is only one important person who knows the truth about who Hank Henshaw really is in J’onn J’onzz (a.k.a. Martian Manhunter): Alex Danvers. However, could that change in the near future? Given the trust that Alex has in Kara, we figure that sooner or later she’ll be let in on the secret. Plus, if there is one person who could really understand where J’onn is coming from, it is Supergirl. She’s also an alien trying to assimilate into the culture of Earth.

While we cannot say for sure when Kara is going to learn the truth about the Martian Manhunter, we can tell you that at one point Hank is going to use his shape-shifting abilities to actually become Supergirl for a moment. Check out now what David Harewood had to say on the subject in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:

“He actually pretends to be Supergirl … She gets to see Supergirl for the first time, as Kara. It’s quite a thing for her to see herself taking off and flying into the sky. It fills her with pride that there’s this female superhero. She looks awesome.”

We know that the plan was not originally to make Hank into J’onn, mostly because the intention seems to be more having him become Cyborg, but we’re glad they changed this up. For one, this is a more interesting character, and we also just love the idea of Kara having some sort of alien ally in the future.
