‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Meet the show’s version of Tar Pit!

FlashAnother notable villain is coming to the second season of “The Flash” on The CW, and this time around it is a character who could make it rather hard for Barry Allen to catch him. Rather than changing his surroundings, this is someone who could literally change the ground beneath his feet.

According to ComicBook.com, recent “Heroes: Reborn” actor Marco Grazzini has been cast to play the part of Joey Montelone. On the show, the site claims that he will be a “vengeful meta-human” who possesses the ability to transform himself into tar, therefore making it hard for Barry to utilize one of the greatest advantages of the Speed Force. We also imagine that he could have some other specific abilities that are not quite clear just yet.

This version of the character seems a little less complicated than the comic-book counterpart, who had a physical form and also the Tar Pit body inhabiting his spirit. Given that this character is probably not going to be a Big Bad, there may not be that much time given to his origin story.

In the end, we’re mostly just happy to see that the show is continuing to bring forth some more villains here and there for Barry to battle, given that so far this season the bar has been set high with Zoom and the way the show cultivated Dr. Light. We’re also hoping that we’re going to get Mirror Master at some point, since we know that there was a plan to bring the character forward onto the show this season at one point.
