‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 7, episode 7 review: Is Caroline pregnant or not?

What in the world is happening with Caroline on “The Vampire Diaries“? On last week’s new episode of the show, the writers dropped what was one of the biggest bombs imaginable, and made us believe for at least a minute or two that she was not actually pregnant, even though it turned out that she was. This is one of the few things that was almost as confusing as the twist itself.

Suffice it to say, the future of the Gemini Coven is still there, and the show still has their way of writing around Candice King’s pregnancy.

Elsewhere, the family fighting with the Salvatores continued. Damon continued to want as much distance between himself and Lily as possible, feeling as though she was pure evil. We get the sentiment of not wanting to be with someone who you feel abandoned you. Yet, by the end of the hour she was on the same page as Damon. She believed him that Julian is bad news, and wants to help him get rid of the guy … or at least so she says. Given Damon’s obvious trust issues, what are the odds that he is actually going to believe her with this?

Now, let’s go back to Caroline in closing, since her pregnancy was not the only thing that the character had to worry about. For example, she learned the truth about Valerie’s pregnancy so many years, and the ties to Stefan. Maybe this won’t break them up entirely, but this is yet another thing to be on their minds as this already-complicated story gets crazier and crazier. Grade: B-.
