‘The Americans’ season 4, ‘American Crime Story,’ ‘Man Seeking Woman’ premiere dates set

Today, FX and sister station FXX made their upcoming premiere dates clear, and based on what we are seeing, there is a heck of a lot to look forward to within the first few months of 2016.

Wednesday January 6, FXX

10:00 p.m. Eastern – “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” season 11. It’s stunning in a way that this show is still going, but it is just about as funny as it ever was. We feel like part of its appeal at this point is that it is more or less the live-action version of “South Park.” It’s current, edgy, silly, and occasionally heartfelt.

10:30 – “Man Seeking Woman” season 2. One of our favorite new comedies of 2015, this is a surrealist look at like and dating through the lens of one man (Jay Baruchel) still very much interested in finding more.

Thursday, January 21, FX

10:00 p.m. – “Baskets” season 1. From Zach Galifianakis, the show is described as such: “Chip Baskets (Galifianakis) wants to follow his dream of being a French clown—however, reality keeps interfering. Saddled with financial difficulties and facing an impenetrable language barrier, he moves back home to Bakersfield with high hopes. There, he is forced to confront his past while working as a rodeo clown and competing with his siblings for his mother’s approval and affection.”

Tuesday, February 2, FX

10:00 p.m. – “American Crime Story: The People v. OJ Simpson.” Executive-produced by Ryan Murphy, the title here is almost self-explanatory. The cast includes John Travolta, Sarah Paulson, and Cuba Gooding Jr. as Simpson.

March

“The Americans” season 4 – Sadly, there are no specific details available at the moment, but we hope that it will be as excellent as always.
