‘The X Factor’ UK: Louis Walsh ‘returns’ (sort of); theme criticism

The latest news -Well, remember all of those rumors regarding whether or not Louis Walsh could return to “The X Factor“? Well, it’s happening … but not in the way that you would think.

While at the Music Industry Trusts Awards at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel recently, Walsh (per the Mirror) paid 20,000 British pounds at a charity auction to re-join the show for a day during rehearsals. We’re not sure that he will even appear on-camera, but Simon Cowell reportedly laughed at the idea of the show’s longtime judge actually paying to be a part of a program that had him on the panel for many years.

We do like the idea of there being a Louis cameo on the show at some point in the future, or maybe even bringing him in as a guest mentor during the rehearsals. Do we want to see him judge again? Not really. We love Louis as a person and think he has some fun moments, but often his criticisms were really hearing the same thing time and time again.

Theme drama – One other story that has come out following the “Xtra Factor” show this week is the idea that the recent This Is Me theme was not really as it seemed in the slightest. Why is that? Apparently Bupsi didn’t even long the song chosen for her, and we clearly saw that many of the artists were not even picking their songs.

With that, we do wonder one simple thing: What’s the point of themes? We’d rather just see people try to present themselves as the artists they want to be, and then see whether or not the public wants to accept them.
