‘Elementary’ season 4 spoilers: What is the premiere inspired by?

ElementaryWe know that a show like “Elementary” cannot follow the source material of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle all that often, and there are some specific reasons for that. After all, this is a show that airs at least 22 episodes a season, and there is simply not enough material out there that is specifically inspired by the man who started it all.

Yet, the premieres, finales, and other key episodes are the perfect occasions to really dip back into the work of Doyle, and this is going to take place specifically during the upcoming premiere of the show. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Rob Doherty passed along the following message:

“The case in the premiere is inspired by The Adventure of Wisteria Lodge … So, there are bits and pieces that will be very familiar to people who know that story.”

During the premiere Sherlock is going to struggle with a lack of faith in him, stemming mostly from some of his actions at the end of this past season. This is where Morland Holmes eventually enters the fray! New series regular John Noble is going to be entering the picture to do what he construes as lending Holmes a helping hand. However, whether or not Sherlock seems the situation the same exact way is an entirely different story. He may be mistrusting himself of his father’s motives, even if the majority of those around him see good in the man.

We will have more on “Elementary” moving forward to the premiere, so be on the lookout!
