‘The Flash’ season 2, episode 5 video: Who created Zoom?

FlashUsually there’s not too much of a difference between the short promo for an upcoming CW show and the “extended” one that is released a day or so later. However, that is a little bit different when it comes to “The Flash” and the upcoming episode next week entitled “The Darkness and the Light.”

For one, the thumbnail below is one of the best looks that we have had of Zoom so far this season. Who else thinks that this guy looks as though he is ready to suck someone’s face off through those slits like a vacuum? He’s extremely creepy, and in that way much more terrifying than the Reverse Flash was.

Now, we also have a big reveal from Earth-2 Harrison Wells at the very end: He created Zoom, and we have to assume that this is in some way similar to how the Earth-1 Harrison a.k.a. Eobard Thawne created Barry. Does it mean that Zoom could actually be this world’s version of Barry, in the event a wide array of things went differently? We’d be silly to rule that out as a possibility, but it is far from a sure thing. In Earth-2, there may have been a wide array of different things done to the timeline to put different characters in different places. All we can say for certain is that the show has not cast anyone to play the man behind the mask for this villain just yet. If they have, they have not announced it.

Hopefully we’ll get some more answers on Zoom’s origins soon, but we imagine it may take time for all of them to surface.
