‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12: Sara Ramirez chimes in on Callie – Penny – Meredith surprise

Are you still recovering from this past “Grey’s Anatomy” episode? It’s understandable. The majority of it was not necessarily that crazy, but it certainly ended with one of the most shocking twists we’ve seen on the ABC show in quite some time: Callie’s girlfriend is Penny! If you don’t remember her outright, then this may help to jog your memory: She just so happens to be the doctor whose mistakes caused Derek to die. She didn’t mean for it to happen, but do you really think that Meredith is going to be able to look past that and start to move forward? That is not going to be an easy task in the slightest.

Sara Ramirez was of course one of the first to find out about this particular twist, and speaking in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly about what’s going to come up next, she had the following to say:

“It’s a challenging discovery. She’s going to need a lot of support, and she’s going to be reactive. That’s going to create some major conflict between a lot of the doctors, including Meredith.”

We don’t think that Meredith is going to want to hold this against Callie in any way at all, given that there is no way that she could have known about this in advance. However, there’s a difference between wanting to get over something and actually getting over something. This is going to take a little bit of effort.
