The mystery of the World Security Council continues. This is really all we know about Powers Boothe and his role in the Marvel universe so far; he is a person of power, and he also has a name as an actor that is absolutely suited for this world.
Now, let’s get into the big news of the moment: The character is being featured on the upcoming third season of “Agents of SHIELD.” According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, Boothe is coming over to the show after that aforementioned mysterious stint in “The Avengers,” and his character also now happens to have a real name in Gideon Malick. Here’s what executive producer Jeph Loeb had to say on the subject to the publication:
“Gideon is incredibly menacing and in him we have a character that even the stone-cold Grant Ward [Brett Dalton] would fear … Only someone of Powers’ caliber could deliver the type of ominous and powerful performance we needed.”
So we have someone even more terrifying than Hydra? This we have to see! The truth of the matter here is that while we are three seasons into this show right now, there are still a wide array of interesting people that we have yet to meet. The odds are high that some more will turn up this season, especially as we start to further push the Inhuman angle. The Secret Warriors are eventually coming, and in between them, Hydra, SHIELD, and now Gideon, the show has a lot coming up on its plate in the weeks ahead.
