‘Bones’ season 11 spoilers: Further details on Betty White appearance

Bones -Everyone loves Betty White, right? It feels that we are now slightly removed from what was a Betty renaissance a couple of years ago, but she does have an upcoming guest spot on “Bones” that sounds in theory like it will be plenty of fun. The title here is “The Carpals in the Coy-Wolves,” which alone is one of the stranger ones that the show has come up with. As for the synopsis, you can see that below:

“When remains of real estate agent Justin Ross are discovered in a forest and appear to have been destroyed by coyote-wolf hybrids, Brennan enlists the help of fellow brilliant forensic anthropologist Dr. Beth Mayer (guest star Betty White) to assist in the investigation. In addition to her professional achievements, Mayer is surprisingly knowledgeable about the world of fantasy football, a key link to Ross’ past and one that could provide vital information in finding his killer. As Booth and Aubrey dig into Ross’ fantasy football league history, they discover he was actively involved in a Twitter feud with NFL star Lou Divers (guest star Ronde Barber), and was also owed a large sum of money from the league’s commissioner, making each of them suspects. Meanwhile, Brennan resists feeling competitive as Mayer impresses the team with her expertise and decades of accomplishments.”

We’re of course excited to see Betty on “Bones,” but what also makes this episode notable is that it is 100% easy to tell here that the show is going to be back at its roots at this point in the season. The whole missing-Booth story will be over, and they are seemingly going to be back doing a little bit more of what they do best.

We also should add that it’s cool to see Barber, known mostly as a Tampa Bay Buccaneer, get a chance to take on an acting role … even if he is still playing the part of a football star. Hey, sometimes art may at least partially imitate life? At least in that aspect of the story the answer is “yes.”

For those of you who are following the schedule extensively, this episode is the last before the hopefully-epic “Sleepy Hollow” crossover that sounds like it will be a whole lot of fun. Granted, we have to wait and see if it turns out entirely like we are picturing it in our head.
