‘Bones’ season 11 spoilers: Emily Deschanel, exec tease general themes

Bones -For everyone who loves “Bones,” the great news that we can offer you right now is that the wait for new episodes is almost at an end! The show is returning to Fox starting on Thursday night with the eleventh season, which is going to be a chance to see finally just how Booth and Brennan manage to get themselves back to the place in which so many feel that they belong: The Jeffersonian. Six months have past since the end of season 10, and a major case is going to be what starts to bring David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel’s characters back into the fold.

In describing this story, and really the overall arc of the season ahead, executive producer Michael Peterson tells Entertainment Weekly that destiny, or at least something like that, is one of the things that they are the most interested in exploring this time around.

“The theme that we’re exploring is you can’t escape fate … They’re meant to be doing what they’re doing, and we’re going to embrace that for all of our characters and really get back to the essence of who they are.”

In going along with that, Deschanel adds that despite the gruesome nature of her job with Booth, solving these cases and using her expertise is really what helps to define Brennan at this point:

“As much as the death and violence and murder can get to somebody, it really seems like this is kind of their purpose in life.”

Beyond the premiere, there are a variety of other episodes we’re intrigued to see … but honestly, the “Sleepy Hollow” crossover takes the cake. We still have no clue how this is going to work, but if they pull it off we will be one of the first ones out there applauding this epic crossover.
