‘Criminal Minds’ season 11 spoilers: New photo of Shemar Moore, Michael Irvin
Recently, we shared some of the first details when it comes to an upcoming October episode of “Criminal Minds” entitled “‘Til Death Do Us Part,” one that revolves around a possible serial killer taking out brides-to-be in Savannah, Georgia. This is an episode directed by Joe Mantegna, and it is also an episode featuring a brief appearance from NFL legend Michael Irvin.
So what is Irvin doing here? At the moment, it’s a fair question. The photo above features him and cast member Shemar Moore, and they are clearly on some football field somewhere. Given the shirt that Irvin is wearing, we imagine that there are three primary purposes of this episode:
1. Promoting the NFL’s “Play 60” campaign, which encourages people to become more active, especially young people with encouragement from their parents.
2. It is a fun cameo from someone who is especially beloved by Dallas Cowboys fans. Plus, Irvin at least has some acting experience.
3. It is more cross-promotion for CBS’ Thursday Night Football. This is something that we saw at times last year; one of our favorite ones came when we saw Phil Simms last year in an episode of “Elementary,” where he revealed a secret talent of his to Sherlock.
While we don’t get the sense that Irvin’s appearance really has that much to do with the main story of the episode, at least this could be a chance to see some members of the BAU get out of their element and maybe have a little bit of fun. That is not something we often see with them.
