‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: The meaning of ‘Nimue’

Once -The fifth season of “Once Upon a Time” is currently in production, and to go along with that, we are going to have a chance to discuss further today some more news when it comes to episode titles.

In a post on Twitter via co-creator Adam Horowitz, it was revealed that “Nimue” is the name for the seventh episode of the season, which is going to follow up the following: “The Dark Swan,” “The Price,” “Siege Perilous,” “The Broken Kingdom,” “Dreamcatcher,” and “The Bear and the Bow.” There are a few themes spread throughout these names, and Arthurian lore is a big part of the it. “Nimue” definitely fits that bill. Nimue is another word for the Lady of the Lake, and “Lady of the Lake” also happens to be the name for the third episode of season 2.

What does this mean? We imagine that there could be another character or two who end up seeking her guidance, and we certainly imagine that there will be at least something more taking shape when it comes to this subject matter beyond what we know right now.

Still, one of the larger mysteries regarding season 5 is that while the Dark Swan has been the real impetus of the marketing campaign, we are still not entirely aware just yet of how long that will last. You don’t want to make Emma so evil that she is not appealing, but at the same time if you cut out the story too early, it renders the marketing campaign useless.
