‘The Celebrity Apprentice’: Donald Trump reacts to Arnold Schwarzenegger hire

NBCWhile we have premieres, finales, and a variety of other big things happening at the moment in the world of TV, to us there is still no doubt what the top story of the moment is: The decision by NBC to officially hire Arnold Schwarzenegger as the new host of “The Celebrity Apprentice.” This is a huge get for a network, given that we thought that there was no way they would be able to find someone with the fame, the fortune, and the larger-than-life personality of Donald Trump. Arnold will bring new viewers, and also he is apparently not someone who will have to deal with complaints from the show’s former host.

If you look at the bottom of this article, you can see Trump’s specific reaction to the hire, praising the former Governor of California while also citing equal-time rules for Presidential candidates as to why he cannot continue the franchise. (Granted, we’re not sure NBC really wants to have him hosting the show at this point anyway.)

We also have a statement from executive producer Mark Burnett, who is the person we really credit at the moment for getting Arnold on board:

“After leaving the show to run for political office, Donald made it clear that he wanted The Celebrity Apprentice to be able to continue to raise millions of dollars annually for worthy causes, and now NBC and I have found an amazing new leader to do just that. Gov. Schwarzenegger will use his vast and highly successful business, political and media experience to drive this hit franchise to new heights.”

There is no premiere date for the new season just yet, but our dream for it would be to have it air during the summer with two-hour episodes. It can take advantage of less competition, and with its consistent silliness, isn’t it the perfect summer show?
