Is ‘The Last Ship’ entering season 3 with ratings consistency?

Last Ship -

For fans of “The Last Ship,” we would certainly understand if you are entering the weekend feeling somewhat bummed-out. After all, you have gotten the chance as of late to see a variety of great things over the course of the summer, and now, you are stuck waiting in a somewhat merciless fashion for the show to return to TNT next year. Production has not started on season 3 just yet, so you will be waiting for at least a little while for some more news in regards to that.

For now, we are here to talk primarily about ratings, and the sort of impact commercially that the show made over the course of season 2. We hadn’t reported about the finale ratings just yet, but the show scored a 0.7 in the 18-49 demographic; in other words, it was steady with the rest of the season. It has ranged between a 0.6 and a 0.8 for the entirety of the season, and brought in almost three million viewers.

While the bad news is that this is a drop from the show’s first season (which averaged over a 1.0 rating and over 4.4 million viewers), it at least remained solid from start to finish across season 2. There was no decline in the ratings throughout, and after that crazy cliffhanger with Rachel, we have a hard time imagining a huge drop-off before season 3.

We’ll give you some more updates on what the future holds soon, but we don’t expect the show to give too much away on Rachel in the near future.
