‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3 spoilers: Are more movie crossovers on the way?
Doesn’t everyone love a good meeting of the minds when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” is a show that has found at least some unique ways over time to tie back into the flagship movies that have allowed it to exist in the first place. There were some references to “Age of Ultron” near the end of season 2, but we feel that the most notable change-up came thanks to “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” This in many ways really blew up and changed everything when it came to the conflict with Hydra.
So where are we going in regards to this over season 3? Is it possible that we could see something with “Captain America: Civil War”? As of right now, executive producer Jeff Bell is doing the right thing and holding the cards close to vest … though he did say in a new interview with Paste Magazine that anything is still very much possible in this world and with these characters:
“That’s something we always look to try and do. It’s always complicated because of schedules, and because of stories. All I can say is, we’re always interested in trying to make that happen, and I can’t really promise anything beyond that. We love it as much as fans do, and if we can, and there are opportunities, we will try and make that happen.”
Hopefully, near the end of this season will be when we start to get some more teases in one way or another in regards to this. As much fun as it would be to have some more information pouring in on the subject, we have to be somewhat of a realist here when we say that there is really no incentive to tell us now. There’s no major Marvel movie between now and spring that could impact the show at all!
