Is ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ season 1, episode 3 new tonight on AMC?

Usually, the Sunday before Labor Day is not one to write home about when it comes to new TV programming. Since to many networks this is thought of almost as another Saturday, there is not too much temptation to put new episodes on … especially for a show like AMC.

We do wonder if it was ever even a tough decision for the network to not air a new episode of “Fear the Walking Dead” tonight. Just look at it this way. One of the main advantages to keeping the show on this weekend is that you are keeping things consistent, which for a new series is something that you should care about. Sometimes, even just taking one week off the air can prove to be at least somewhat problematic.

However, at the same time there is another issue that you run into here: You want great ratings, and if people are going to be off Saturday doing other things, why in the world would you want to run the risk of not having many people watching? This is a trade-off, and something that you do have to be at least reasonably familiar with going into the installment airing.

At least in not airing the third episode tonight, maybe some viewers who missed an hour or two will get a chance to catch up, and the next four episodes (also, the last four episodes) are all going to air one after the next until the show is over. Then, we’re back at the flagship “Walking Dead” and we start anew!
