‘The Flash’ season 2 poster features new costume front and center

Other than the new look (including a certain white-and-yellow logo), we do have to be honest about the poster below for The CW’s “The Flash“: As awesome as it is, it’s also expected. Barry Allen is the star of the show, and since the character’s strength is super-speed, what else do you show other than him running?

We feel like networks do like to go at it from time to time to come up with the best key art, and we’re sure that there are some networks that really tried to push the envelope and clocked many more hours than The CW did with this. Yet, this more than likely will be on more bedroom walls and subway stations across America than the majority of them. It’s so simple, and yet effective. Everyone wants to believe in a hero, and the producers / star Grant Gustin have created a really great one here.

Do we want to eventually see some other posters out there featuring other characters? Sure. Eventually it’d be really fun to see one of Caitlin as Killer Frost, Cisco as Vibe, or even Wally West / Jay Garrick if they end up being important enough characters in the run of the show. With that said, these would more than likely appeal much more to the diehard fans of the show than any casual person walking by and seeing an advertisement. They wouldn’t know what they’re looking at as much, and you want to bring in new viewers while appealing to devoted ones.
