‘Big Brother 17’ review: an eviction, returning player, and endurance competition (live updates)
big brotThere is a heck of a lot of big stuff happening on Thursday night’s “Big Brother 17” live show, and it is pretty darn tough to contain all of our excitement. Let’s just line it up here with the following: You’ve got a live eviction, a returning houseguest, and then possibly a Head of Household Competition in one night. It’s possible that they could be combined. We’re hearing that it will be an endurance competition coming up, so hopefully that means that something is coming that is similar in many ways to season 15, which was one of the most entertaining competitions we’ve seen because you had people leaving the game in blazes of glory. (It may have been the best thing about that whole season!)
As usual, we’re going to be reviewing this episode live alongside the show, so be sure to check back throughout for more updates and refresh the page!
After the Veto – The package mostly consisted of watching Vanessa go after Steve while Johnny Mac told everyone what they wanted to hear. This did not make really anyone other than the two nominees look particularly likable; Vanessa’s strategy is actually really good, but we feel like what’s missing from her as a TV viewer is her providing the same sort of honest diary rooms that John is. She takes those probably a little too seriously, and it takes some of the fun out of what could be a great game.
James family segment – This was just a hoot to watch, even though most of it was just people talking about James in a bar. What, there couldn’t be a big party for him like there was for Steve?
Eviction – In an unfortunate unanimous vote, John was evicted from the house over Steve. We LOVED his interview with Julie Chen so much, though, other than the part about him saying that he’d target Meg and keep Austin and the twins around a little while longer. Seriously, dude? It was great that he almost made Julie laugh the entire time.
Returning player – If you’re curious to learn more right now, head over here for some live updates! That’s where we will be keeping track of all that happens.
