‘Chicago PD’ season 3 spoilers: Is the future still bright for Lindsay, Halstead?

The season premiere of “Chicago PD” is just a little over a month away at this point, but you have to believe that there is still plenty to talk about even with the episodes this far away. For example, one of the biggest threads worth discussing revolves simply around what the status of Erin Lindsay and Jay Halstead could be at some point during season 3.

While there’s no confirmation that the two characters are endgame, this is clearly what most fans would like to see. They bring out the best in each other, and they also have that great chemistry and back-and-forth you want from a TV couple.

During the early portion of season 3, though, Jay is going to have a little bit of a different priority: Just making sure that she is okay after falling back into her old vices and spending time with her mother. Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Matt Olmstead made it clear that Halstead for now is “just worried about her surviving … Then once she gets her feet [back] under her, we may have the romance kick back in.”

Obviously, there are no guarantees in this world, but there’s a reason to still have hope! The question is how long it will take Lindsay to get back to her old self once again. We don’t think that the show would necessarily wait forever to have that happen given that the story otherwise would be very depressing. Still, patience is going to be a virtue when it comes to these two.
