‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: See Atom-Smasher and more in new promo!

FlashLet’s face it: We still have a long ways to go until season 2 of “The Flash” premieres on The CW come Tuesday, October 7 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. As a result of this, the network is really not in that big of a hurry to try and release new promos.

The one below is only ten seconds long, but it does have people talking for a pair of different reasons:

1. Atom-Smasher! This is the first look at the show’s version of the character, played by Adam Copeland, who can change his size and muscle density. He seems almost like the reverse of The Atom in one way, and interestingly in the comics he is a hero in some incarnations. That doesn’t appear to be the case here, and this should be a fun story to do insofar as special effects go.

2. The Flash … signal? Batman haves already made their opinion about whatever that is supposed to be right before the end of the promo, and we don’t really care too much it one way or another. It actually would make some sort of sense if there was a beacon that STAR Labs could shine on various topics, if for no other reason than that it could give Barry a precise location to run to very quickly, even faster than it would take for him to receive via some previous forms of communication.

There’s really not enough here for us to say whether or not this season will be as awesome as season 1, but we have every expectation that it will be. With the story they have played with the multiverse and potentially Professor Zoom, how could it not be?
