‘Empire’ season 2 spoilers: The power struggle continues in new trailer

The second season of “Empire” is premiering on Fox come September 21, and thanks to the fact that filming has been taking place now for many weeks, that has given Fox enough time to compile together a pretty fantastic trailer of things to expect.

If you look below, you can see first and foremost that even though Lucious Lyon may be in prison, he is still going to do almost anything that he can to be a puppetmaster. This includes holding tense conversations, getting into arguments, and then get into Cookie’s head by proclaiming to her that she is his ride-or-die. On the outside, it is still going to be clear to some (at least from a marketing point of view) that Lucious still is Empire Entertainment. What do you do without him?

Well, for some, this is obviously a chance for them to try to prove that they are something more, and deserving of many more accolades and attention that they have received to date. Let’s just say that Andre and Jamal are going to continue to forge their own paths, and make some controversial decisions along the way.

The funny thing about this trailer is that, as good as it is, we are still somewhat distracted by the fact that Fox / the show used the same music as in many of the recent Arby’s commercials. Therefore, we keep waiting for someone to say “we have the meats” at the end.
