‘Big Brother 17’ live feed spoilers: Vanessa fights, Becky listens, and Austin / Liz stay awkward

VanessaThe night of events in the “Big Brother 17” house was many things, and somewhere near the top of the list was weird … very weird. Thankfully, it was weird in a fun way.

Let us begin here first and foremost with Vanessa, mostly because she at least has some sort of indication that she could be going on. She’s being told that Johnny Mac is the replacement nominee and that Shelli will go home, but she is still pushing and pushing to do everything that she can to stay alive. Her conversation with Becky was great for that, mostly because she really was not having any of what Vanessa was selling to her. She seems more ready to just nominate her, get it over with, and then move on to enjoy the rest of her day.

Shelli, meanwhile, is well aware at this point as to what is going to be coming up with Vanessa, but there does not appear to be much that she can do about it. Most of the house seems ready to get rid of the poker player, feeling like she has tried way too hard and used too many manipulative tactics.

As for the rest of the night, there was a really awkward exchange with Austin and Liz when she admitted that he wasn’t a fan of the beard. This led to some sort of crazy negotiation that he would shave part of it and then she would make out with him if he wins the next Head of Household. This relationship is one of the weirdest we’ve ever seen. She’s not entirely discouraging it a la Amber and Beast Mode Cowboy (she’s giving him a little hope), but there are still enough context clues for Austin to figure it out that she’s only pretending so that her game will not fall apart.
