‘Big Brother 17’ live feed spoilers: The Power of Veto winner revealed after long wait

JohnWho is the official holder of the Power of Veto on “Big Brother 17” this week? It certainly took the show long enough to get around to revealing it! We had one of the longest competitions of the season today, as feeds were down for over five hours while we were waiting for the winner to be confirmed.

Before the competition began, our primary frustration was with the way that Becky completely mishandled being Head of Household this week. She should have either nominated Vanessa outright, or done a better job of keeping it a secret that she was going home. Now, she looks incredible transparent. Shelli said she would throw it to Vanessa if the two are close to the end together, and would therefore ensure that they could both be safe.

As for the other players joining Becky, Shelli, Steve, and Vanessa in the competition, you have someone in Meg who has never won anything, and then someone in Austin who may not try that hard to win it … though there could be a good motivation for him to. If Austin was to take this and then not use it, he proves his loyalty to Vanessa, and at the same time moves us her depth chart of allies if Shelli is evicted from the game. (Johnny Mac is the host, hence him being the picture.)

Now, let’s get to the results. This was one of those timed competitions, and it sounds like a reprise of the BB Comics one we’ve seen in the past. Sounds fun? We liked it at least the first time. We’re still getting confirmation, but we know right now that Vanessa did not win. She was telling Steve about how she messed up in the competition.

Update: It’s Steve! He is victorious! He originally thought about throwing it, but we’re glad he didn’t. This means effectively that he can save himself, Becky can nominate Vanessa, and we will have a very interesting few days of drama coming up. If Becky does go through with the plan, she will have to turn on her former ally and try to get votes from someone other than Austin and the twins to stay alive. Maybe she could get Steve, but he’d know that Becky would send Vanessa home in a tie. She’d need Johnny Mac, Jackie, Meg, or James to flip over.
