Gordon Ramsay sticking with ‘MasterChef,’ Fox with two-year deal

MasterChefOver the course of the past several years, there have been few TV personalities as prolific as Gordon Ramsay. Just take a look at some of the shows on Fox that he has been involved with over the past several years: “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Kitchen Nightmares,” “MasterChef,” “MasterChef Junior,” and “Hotel Hell.” Of these shows three of them have been on the air this year alone, and today Gordon confirmed that he has signed a new two-year deal with Fox that is going to include another whopping eighty hours of programming.

We really do not think that it is hard to figure out just why Chef Ramsay is the popular TV figure that he is. He’s extremely skilled as a chef, but he is also incredible charismatic, inspirational, and also provides fantastic TV moments. He pushes contestants in a way that few others do on his competition shows, and back when “Kitchen Nightmares” was going strong he still did his part to ensure that restaurants could be turned around.

The thing is that in the TV business, you do really occupy a great deal of time wondering when someone could start to slow down and change course. This is the thing with Chef Ramsay: We don’t really see that happening anytime soon. We really feel like in one way or another, he can keep doing this for Fox as long as he wants to. The ratings are still there, and for Fox is programming is great in that it can be placed almost anywhere on the schedule and perform well, even without a ton of promotion.

This summer, you can catch Ramsay on “MasterChef” Wednesday nights. Our most recent episode review is over here.
