‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5: The Dark Swan takes center stage in new poster

The fifth season of “Once Upon a Time” is premiering on ABC come Sunday, September 27, and the more that we are seeing from ABC and their promo department, the more that one thing is coming clear: The Dark Swan is going to be center stage.

The image above is just one piece of key art that the show has introduced for the new season, and it features a series of black feathers dancing around in the air alongside Jennifer Morrison’s Emma Swan sporting an all-black outfit. Of course, we do wonder already where she got the outfit. Is the Dark One also secretly a fashion designer, or does someone in Storybrooke just have this lying around in a store somewhere?

The first question that you are going to have to ask yourselves when it comes to Emma next season is whether or not this character is fully evil now, or if she can control what is haunting her. Also, the second question is who possesses the dagger, and therefore will be able to control Emma in a way that no one else can. This could shape almost the entire course of season 5 if she falls into the wrong hands.

Will this story last for the entire season? It’s far too early to comment on that at the moment, but if we had to guess at the moment, this will be at least something that lasts for the first 11 episodes. This is the structure of the show as of late, and so we have to figure with the split season that this will be the strategy here.
