New ‘The X-Files’ promo revives ‘I Want to Believe’ (video)

X Files -Given the fact that “The X-Files” is not actually returning to Fox until January 24 of next year, we really cannot imagine what the next few months are going to be like when it comes to promotional material. We’re already getting advertisements now!

Granted, the one below is hardly the most substantial teaser in television history, with it to us being mostly significant thanks to the phrase “I Want to Believe” being included. This is of course a callback to a famed poster, and in turn is the title of the 2008 feature film that marked the last time we saw Mulder and Scully in any sort of major way. This is just a little something designed to make you smile.

One thing that you have to remember throughout this campaign is that for the most part, you are probably not going to see too much in the way of footage from the show until the premiere. We are talking about only six episodes, and it feels like to give much away would be somewhat detrimental to the real purpose of the show: Surprising you.

Obviously, Chris Carter and the writers have to know that there will be more pressure than ever on them to deliver with these six episodes. The hype is beginning already, and this is something with one of the most passionate fan followings out there. We’re looking forward to seeing what ideas they come up with, and also if the ratings will be good enough to justify another one of these down the road.
