ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 production begins; commence rejoicing!

More of the latest -For all “Castle” fans, now is the time for some celebration: Season 8 is officially underway! Production has started in the Los Angeles area, with the show preparing for its September 21 premiere in every way that they can.

Note that we cannot tell you necessarily what day every person started up work; for example, we know that Stana Katic is arriving a little later than some other actors on the show. Everyone will be accounted for soon enough, though, and you can expect the cast as currently assembled to all have big parts to play in the story. Think of the tweet below via new co-showrunner Terence Paul Winter as a way to kick off season 8 in fine fashion. As you will see, veteran show director Rob Bowman is going to be helping to steer the ship in the early going, so that should give you even more confidence that the show is going to stay at least reasonably close to the one you are familiar with already.

For now, the biggest cliffhanger is this: What will be Castle and Beckett’s working relationship moving forward? If she continues on with the force, odds are not likely that she will remain a detective now that Gates is gone, unless of course new character Hayley somehow comes in and ends up taking her position as Captain. The other possibility is Beckett gets into politics, and we don’t see Rick suddenly getting an inspiration to do a series of political thrillers.

Ultimately, the thing to remember here is that this is a detective show with a little bit of humor and a great deal of heart. The show knows what its audience wants to see.
