ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 spoilers: ‘Walking Dead,’ ‘Awkward’ alum to recur

We heard some time ago that there were two characters on “Castle” that were being cast: A woman named Hayley who had a past working for the police, and a tech analyst who would be appearing across multiple episodes.

We already knew that Toks Olagundoye being cast as the former; now, we know who is coming aboard as the latter. Sources confirm to Entertainment Weekly that Sunkrish Bala of “The Walking Dead” and “Awkward” fame has been brought in as Vikram Singh, a tech analyst described as being relatively “high-strung” who also has some sort of difficult past that could be exposed over time. It’s easy to figure out why a character like this would be important, if for no other reason than that there are many different cases that require a little bit of further tech insight. He seems to be the right sort of guy to provide insight that Castle, Beckett, or any other character does not get elsewhere.

We should note, though, that we are merely speculating on what Bala’s role on the show may be. It has not been confirmed in the slightest that Beckett is even remaining with the NYPD after the cliffhanger last season.

The new season premieres in September, and while we know there are many anxious about what the direction of the show may be, we’re going to take Nathan Fillion’s word for it when he said that there is little reason to worry about the show changing to the point where it becomes something that fans of the series do not like.
