‘Gotham’ season 2 spoilers: Now with a touch of cannibalism

Apparently, “Hannibal” is no longer going to be the only show on TV featuring a cannibal in some shape or form. There’s another one coming to “Gotham“! Then again, should we really be using an exclamation point to be describing any of this? It really is rather disgusting more so than anything else.

According to a new report coming in right now from Zap2It, Dustin Ybarra (most recently of “Battle Creek”) is set to recur on the second season of the show as Robert Greenwood, a man locked up in Arkham Asylum after murdering and eating several women. While it’s a great thing that this guy is locked up, just how long is that going to last? We’ve learned time and time again with these sort of shows that jails / asylums typically have the worst security of all time, and bad people always find a way to crawl themselves out of danger.

This is just one of many different castings that has taken place over the past week related to “Gotham.” We’ve already reported that James Frain of “True Blood” is going to be one of the most prominent new characters, a billionaire named Theo Galavan with some very dark intentions. Meanwhile, it was revealed yesterday who is set to be the character Tigress within this world.

Season 2 of “Gotham” will as a whole feature more of the Penguin’s rise to prominence, but also expand upon the Riddler’s origin story and give us more on the beginnings of both the Joker and Mr. Freeze. The show is set to premiere on Fox come Monday, September 23 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, and we’ll have some further news soon.
