‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5: Prepare with new book all about Red!

Remember when Red Riding Hood was a key fixture on “Once Upon a Time“? Meghan Ory was a huge part of the show on the first two seasons, but then left in order to do the CBS series “Intelligence,” She did not have much of a presence at all in season 4, and we hope that this is not some sort of warning sign that we are really not going to be seeing too much more of the character moving into the future.

What we can at least tell you for now, though, is that you are going to have a chance to see a whole lot more of Red Riding Hood in a new book! There is a companion novel written by Wendy Toliver hitting stores on September 22 (interestingly right around when the show will premiere for its fifth season) entitled Red’s Untold Tale, and it will give fans of the show some more insight into the character. Speaking per The Hollywood Reporter, the producers of the show offered up the following statement:

“Red’s Untold Tale explores an earlier chapter in the life of one of our most beloved characters … Plagued by nightmares she doesn’t understand and a temper she can’t control, 16-year-old Red struggles to save Granny’s troubled business and to nurture her budding romance with Peter, even as the betrayal of her classmates awakens the wolf within.”

The site also was first to post the cover of the book, which you can also see below. Hopefully, all of this is going to give us a greater sense of the character, and maybe even serve as a precursor towards seeing more of her on the show again (we can only hope).
