‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16 finale video: Great news for Benson, Noah?
Even though it may just be a small sneak peek of Wednesday night’s “Law & Order: SVU” finale, the video does still have us hopeful that there could be some happy moments by the time we get to the end of the episode.
Of course, the subject matter in this preview is very much centered around Benson (Mariska Hargitay), who is finally getting the approval that she needs in order to become the adopted parent of Noah after serving as a foster mother for the past season. Just from the preview alone you can see how much she loves the child, and how she is doing everything that she can in order to ensure that he grows up in a stable environment after everything that he has gone through.
Oh, and there is another familiar face in this sneak peek that you are probably very excited to see, as well! You have to love how “SVU” brings quite a bit to the table for its finale every year.
The unfortunate bit of news about this episode is that we know at some point that Johnny D is going to enter the picture, and he is not going to be anywhere near as excited about the thought of having Benson around his kid … mostly because he is down for vengeance now that he knows that Benson is caring for the kid. You do have a reason to be afraid, but given how much pain we’ve already seen in this adoption process, a sad ending to the season and this story would be pretty devastating.

Michael Goldman and Morbipet like two crazy defending Amanda Rollins. They act the Kelly was a big star and SVU not survive without it. Get real: Kelly it is not the leading lady of the show. She’s just a supporting. And you talk about the financial details if They Were directors of NBC. You are only two major resentful of the success of Mariska Hargitay. Careful because jealousy is bad for your health.
Sorry for my English.

The more I think about it, the angrier I get over Warren Leight’s comments for writing out Danny Pino(Det. Amaro). This is a scripted show. It could have been written for ICE-T(Fin) to be the 2nd in command. Instead, it was written that he didn’t want to take the Sergeant’s exam, and it was written that Amaro would(or wanted to). This was absolutely a money decision by NBC and possibly Dick Wolf. Pino’s contract was up. They didn’t want to pay him anything near what they’re paying Debra Messing for the worst renewed show on TV(The Mysteries of Laura), which is $200,000+ per episode. Detective Amaro wasn’t in 6-8 episodes this season. I guessing that he wasn’t paid for those episodes that he didn’t appear in, and I’m guessing that NBC probably wanted to do the exact same thing to him next season. I think those guesses are pretty sound. What an absolute shame what NBC did to Danny Pino. NBC is turning into the most classless, pathetic network on television.

S16 was such a let down for me. They spent way too much time on the Benoah drama. It’s great that Liv finally has a kid but they put him in peril so much this season it got tedious. So many missed opportunities and dropped storylines for the rest of the cast. Such a pity. And now that it looks like DP is leaving it’s so sad they couldn’t give him a better season. Wherever he goes I hope he gets appreciated & more to work with than the crumbs SVU threw at him.
I don’t think I can forgive the show for dropping Amanda’s rape storyline. That’s such a huge mistake for a show that’s supposed to be about special victims. To not even show a single struggle for her, making it seem as 2 weeks at a yoga retreat ‘cured’ her, and to top it all of; seeing her say “My life is perfect” in a sneak peek for the finale made me so upset. I know I’m too invested and especially in her character as I can relate to her, but I took that as a huge insult.

Will there be a happy ending? I’m guessing that there won’t be. Det. Benson should have kept all knowledge that she was adopting Noah from Johnny D., but from what I’ve read, she’s the one that’s going to let him know. It’s going to end up being a mistake. Who else on the SVU squad will pay for this stupidity? That remains to be seen.

I’m guessing Johnny D is one of those bodies on the floor, and with killing him off I hope it means killing the Benoah drama. But from what they showed us in S16 no one but Liv matters so you’re probably right about it not being the happy ending. They’ll probably keep using Noah in S17 and ruin that season too.
