Tom Hanks teaches David Letterman about ‘selfie sticks’ in final ‘Late Show’ appearance
In just a matter of two short days, the grand finale of “The Late Show with David Letterman” is going to be upon us, and we already are starting to feel like this is going to be a tear-jerking affair. After all, how else would you even get emotional for a second over something about selfie sticks?
Ridiculous as it may seem, that is what the video featuring Dave and Tom Hanks is all about. If you look below, you can see the movie star and the late-night host team up for what is a pretty ridiculous exchange over how to actually use such a device. You see, Tom is just trying to help Dave for some future vacations? All of this is made even funnier because Letterman does not even have social media, and is probably going to completely disappear into the abyss the day after his show goes off the air.
Tomorrow night is the last show with a scheduled guest, with Bill Murray being announced as the main interview. Given that he has appeared on the show dozens of times and also appeared on the very first episode of “The Late Show,” there really is no better candidate at the moment to help send Dave off.
Then again, the entire lineup for the final show on Wednesday is still being kept under tight wraps. We would certainly hope that someone beloved like Regis Philbin would stop by, but we would be more than fine if the last guest is someone totally unexpected.
