‘Dancing with the Stars’ 20 spoilers: When will the two-night format officially return?

Dancing with the Stars -Given that there are still multiple episodes left on this season of “Dancing with the Stars,” there is still a little bit of time left for ABC to play around with the format. Clearly, this is what they are doing, as producers are finally going back to a format that the series was using heavily when the show was in its heyday.

According to E! News, the results shows are going to be officially returning come Tuesday night, and they will be doing so in a fairly dramatic fashion. After all, the first episode on May 5 will actually feature a double-elimination. There are still more than two weeks left and still many contestants, so going in that direction makes some sense. Maybe this will be the week when either Chris Soules and Robert Herjavec are sent home? They are both likable people, but at the same time they have held on for dear life the past couples of weeks, and many out there are still upset about the departure of Willow Shields.

Unfortunately for fans of the results show, we do not exactly think that these are going to become a regular occurrence again. Results shows are a fun opportunity to see contestants in a different environment, but it is mostly being brought back here as a form of filler in the final weeks of the season / May sweeps. This boosts the ratings of ABC ever so slightly, and this hopefully sets the stage for a big conclusion.

Next fall, we’re sure that ABC will have another use for the Tuesday-at-8:00 p.m. timeslot.
