‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ spoilers: Angela Bassett casting (finally) confirmed

American Horror Story -Ever since we learned that Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, and Sarah Paulson were all going to be returning for “American Horror Story: Hotel,” there has been one question at the top of our list: What about Angela Bassett? While she is not so iconic to the franchise in that she has appeared on every season, she has at least been a major part of the past two years and has quickly become a major fan favorite.

In a post on Twitter (see below), executive producer Ryan Murphy has confirmed that Bassett will be appearing on the new season, but did not say too much about her character other than that she is going to be spending a great deal of time working alongside series newcomer Lady Gaga. The singer and Matt Bomer are two of the upcoming season’s leads, and they will be joined by Cheyenne Jackson and Wes Bentley as some of the relative newcomers. While Bentley and Bomer have both appeared in the franchise, they were small guest spots rather than anything that was permanent.

The new season should go into production at some point in the next couple of months; there is no confirmed premiere date just yet, but think October (this has worked well for the show in the past, so there is no real reason to change that up). This has been a ratings revelation for FX over the years, and with Gaga the numbers may surge even more than they have to date.

We’re sure that there is still some more casting news on the show to come, so just be on the lookout for that in the near future!
