‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16 spoilers: Andre Braugher, Dann Florek to return

In the criminal justice system, there are a variety of familiar faces who can pop in from time to time … and this is something that “Law & Order: SVU” is going to take advantage of as we move a little bit further into the season.

As first reported by TV Guide, the NBC institution is bringing back someone who was once a major character on the series in Donald Cragen (Dann Florek) for an episode. What was can tell you right now is that he is responsible for re-opening a case regarding an imprisoned man convicted for raping his daughter.

As for another returning face, how about Andre Braugher? The same article also claims that the awesome and underrated actor, currently a regular on Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” is going to be back in action as Bayard Ellis. He is the attorney representing the accused man. Somehow Braugher must have found some time in his schedule to do this, and we were not quite sure that there was going to be any time for guest appearances… but we are thrilled that there is!

New episodes of the series are currently airing Wednesday night at 9:00 p.m. Eastern, and they will continue to air in this spot for the rest of the season. More than likely, we will be hearing more about guest stars before we make it to the end of the season. These remain such a huge part of the fabric of this show that it is hard to imagine it playing out without them. Of course, we will have some further news as it starts to come out.
