‘The Flash’ episode 17 reaction: What the Eobard Thawne reveal really means

The FlashThe Flash” was fortunate enough to deliver another excellent episode of the series on Tuesday night, but it definitely did not kick off its two-week hiatus with substantial answers. Instead, “Tricksters” left us with a pretty enormous question in regards to who Eobard Thawne really is, and how he managed to more or less take over the persona of Harrison Wells after he sapped the life force out of the real one. All this time, we thought that Dr. Wells was in fact the Man in the Yellow Suit, and while that may be in part the case, it is not entirely so.

Obviously, you are going to find yourself wanting more answers and soon and the producers of the show know what fans want. This is why they are plotting to do everything that they can to give you some further information, while promising that everything that you have seen so far, including some of the events in “Out of Time,” will matter. Speaking (per TVLine) about some of this, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said the following:

“What happened to Harrison Wells’ real body and what really happened that night and all these things are going to start coming out … What happened in [Episode] 15, not all of it went away as people are going to find out soon.”

Kreisberg also hinted that it is possible that Eobard is not necessarily a one-season story, which is good for some of you hoping to see this character as a part of the mythology. Given how great Tom Cavanagh is, one of our biggest real fears is that we will see him for this year, and then never again. That is still possible, even if this character lasts, thanks in part to what we know about his true form.

For some other teases on what lies ahead on “The Flash,” the extended promo that was released after Tuesday night’s episode should offer up some answers.
